CENSUS 2020: RESPOND by OCT. 15 to HELP SAVE JOBS and SERVICES

DC 37 needs your help in fighting for our city’s future. The 2020 Census count ends on Oct. 15. Undercounting New York City could cause us to lose billions in federal dollars, resulting in severe cuts to vital city services, important community programs and even massive layoffs of public workers. Eliminate the need for person-to-person contact by completing your 2020 Census at my2020Census.gov online or on your smartphone, or by calling 1-844-330-2020 and no Census workers will come to your door.  Please help spread the word, get counted and do your part to protect our city’s future! #LaborCounts #getcounted

OPT IN to H+H OT PAY LAWSUIT

DC37 and outside counsel are representing union members in an action against New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H ) regarding their violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
The lawsuit alleges that H+H is not including additions to gross (longevities, differentials, etc.) in the base hourly rate when calculating the time and one-half overtime pay rate.
All dues-paying DC 37 members who are in an FLSA covered title at H+H and worked over 40 hours in any week since July 2016 should opt-in. Forms were mailed in early September. If you did not receive the forms, and are a dues-paying DC37 member that worked in a covered title, please contact outside counsel at 516-570-4343 to request forms.
The lawsuit is at its early stages and there is no guarantee of success. Each plaintiff must submit an opt-in form by Nov. 9.
